What FDA recently announced and why?

when the electronic cigarette is actually rolling the tobacco market, Suddenly FDA is announcing 21 e cigs brands to stop flavored juices. Regulators want to know whether the companies illegally introduced more than 40 new devices and nicotine liquids to the market without first agency approval. FDA is threatening to pull new e-cigarette products from shelves if the companies don't prove they're selling the items legally.
  


   FDA sent letters 21 e-cigarette manufacturers including the global e cigs market leader JUUL requesting information to investigate whether they illegally introduced more than 40 new devices and nicotine liquids to the market without receiving agency approval.

New Actions on Flavored Tobacco Products
FDA unveils new steps preventing youth access to flavored tobacco products and announces plans to ban menthol in cigarettes and cigars.
Public Hearing and Request for Comment--Eliminating Youth Electronic Cigarette Use: The Role for Drug Therapies.
FDA will hold a public hearing on December 5, 2018, to discuss efforts to eliminate youth e-cigarette use, with a focus on the potential role of drug therapies to support cessation and the issues impacting the development of such therapies.
Key Dates
·         Register to be a presenter at the Dec. 5 public hearing by Nov. 23, 2018
·         Register to attend the Dec. 5 public hearing or watch the live webcast by Dec. 3, 2018
·         Submit a public comment to the docket through Jan. 2, 2019

     FDA already asked JUUL Lab not to sale their product in gas stations and retail shop and to remove their content from social media to prevent teenagers from flavored vaping. But LUUL has become the giant in e cigs market they are holding around 72% market share. They actually don’t need to sale their product in social media marketplace.


      But personally I believe e cigarette should be open to the existing tobacco market considering the health hazarded traditional tobacco product. Many reliable sources of experts are saying e cigs are 95% safer than traditional tobacco combustion method.


    If we really need to keep teenagers away from vaping as well as traditional smoking, we need to start this from family. In family elder persons can discuss about badness of smoking or early vaping. School also may take some role in this criteria. But if we look to the websites of Electric cigarette brands they have a disclaimer on their page and asking visitors are they 21 years + or not. So they keeping their responsibility right. We need to take some responsibility among tins issue.
